What’s to Come in 2014

I know you care about the food you eat. And you have a right to know what is in that food. Just Label It and the fight for labeling foods with genetically engineered ingredients had an amazing 2013.

The first state laws to require GE food labeling were passed in Connecticut and Maine. Whole Foods announced that they would require GE ingredient labeling for all of the products in their stories by 2018. And – even though this isn’t surprising to you – polls showed that more then 93 percent of consumers support GE labeling.

But we’re not done yet. If we are going to keep fighting for your right to know, we need your help right now. We must reach our goal of $15,000 by midnight Tuesday, December 31st. Can we count on you?

We have big plans for 2014. We will continue to put pressure on the FDA, the White House, and Congress to mandate the labeling of GE foods. We will keep working closely with those virtuous companies that stand alongside the consumer and demand for transparency. Lastly, we will expand our supporter base of individuals and partner companies who believe in the consumers right to know.

But we can’t get it done without you. We need your help right now. Donate before midnight tonight so JLI can keep fighting for you in 2014.

Thank you for all you’ve done to support JLI.

Just Label It

We’re building a movement of concerned citizens – parents, health care workers, small business owners, farmers, and more – who care about what’s in the food we eat.

In October 2011, the Just Label It campaign was formed when the Center for Food Safety filed a petition with the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to require the labeling of all foods produced using genetic engineering. Days later, we asked citizens from around the country to join us and tell the FDA to “Just Label It.” More than 1.2 million Americans have contacted to the FDA urging them to label genetically engineered foods. Ask others to sign on at http://www.JustLabelIt.org/takeaction.
